About The Shoot Out Boulder

SHOPPING CART

Make sure you Download the Registration Form 2011 (PDF) which is also needed with your payment and must be turned in at the start of the event when you receive your MiniDV tape for the contest. Additional forms will be available at the registration tent on the 1300 block of Pearl Street on the October 7 starting at 4 PM.

Other documents that you might need: Participant Release Form (page 2 from Registration Form), Location Release Form and Music Release Form (PDF). Documents may also be provided at sign-in and film return. Remember that your materials are not considered "turned-in" until the festival organizers have ALL documents.

Online Ticketing for The Shoot Out Boulder - $1000 prize for 'Best Film' powered by Eventbrite

This is a rain or shine event. There are no refunds or rain checks. If there is a delay in starting due to festival issues, the end of the event will be 24 hours later i.e. 6:15 PM Friday until 6:15 PM Saturday. There are also no refunds if you are late, it is a contest.

PRIZES

The Shoot Out Boulder awards prizes for each nominated category on the entry form. The Shoot Out Boulder's Top Ten Films may be screened in Australia and New Zealand as part of the on-going International Shoot Out 24 Hour Filmmaking Festival.

New in 2011 is a separate judging, screening and awarding of categorical prizes for 17 & Under Top 10 Films.

All registered participants are eligible for the awards. If a participating team is not properly registered that participating team is not eligible for the award.

  8. Best Music Composition

  9. Best Actor

  10. Best Screenplay

  11. Best 17 & Under Film - To be eligible for the 17 & Under's Award, two thirds of the team members must be under 18 years of age. 17 & Under are also eligible for all other prizes as well.

  12. Audience Choice Award - Given out during the 7 PM Public screening of the Top 10 Shoot Out Films (includes Best 17 & under, Best Boulder Family Awarded films .

  13. NEW! Best Boulder Family Award - Given out during the Top 10 17 & Under Films screening at 1 PM.

  • Silver Spur Awards [certificate only to free entry for next Shoot Out event).

PRIZES FOR CATAGORIES

Trophy Prizes are awarded for various registered categories. The Best Film receives additional items along with the Trophy Prize.
