The Shoot Out Boulder Entry Conditions 2008
Please read all entry information before completing entry form.
Clearly record each participant’s name, address, contact information,
and category (Producer, Director, Scriptwriter, etc.) on the entry form.
The Shoot Out awards prizes for each category, and you must be a registered
team member to be eligible to win. Any participant whose entry information is
incomplete WILL NOT BE REGISTERED and therefore not considered any part of the event.
Team members can be listed for more than one category, e.g., one person can be
your team’s Producer, Cameraperson, and Art Director. You can even be a one-person team,
listing your name in all categories. There is no additional fee for this, but there must be
A NAMED ENTERED FOR EACH CATEGORY – even if it means duplicating information.
A participant can work with more than one team but must register for each team.
EACH PERSON PARTICIPATING IN THE SHOOT OUT MUST A SIGN A PARTICIPANT RELEASE FORM.
ENTRY FEES
There are a couple different fee structures for entry. When a team signs-up, the entry fee also covers additional participants depending upon your team type. Additional team members pay a per-person rate. Each registered team member receives (1) one comp ticket for the Sunday awards screening and makes them eligible for any categorical awards i.e. Best Actor. Additional Boulder Theater tickets are available for $15.00 each.
$50.00 FOR 17 and UNDER. Includes 3 participants. (Two-thirds of the team must be 17 or under to qualify.) Each additional is $15.00
$100.00 FOR 18 AND OVER. Includes 3 participants. Each additional is $20.00
$75.00 FOR 3 MEMBERS OF THE SAME FAMILY. (Includes 3 participants) Each additional is $20.00.
*Price includes a 5% Admissions tax for the City of Boulder.
Proof of age, student I. D., and/or Family relationship may be requested.

One scenario: Paul Smith and Sue Jones are a film-making team. They list Jones as Director and Smith as responsible for all other categories. They will pay $100 for the first two people and $20 for each additional team member who happens to show up at the last moment as an actor. So the entry fee for their three-person team is $120. If Jones and Smith enter as a “17 and under team,” the fee will be $50 for three participants and $15 for each additional team member (another teenage friend shows up and happens to help out by providing an awesome original sound track)—for a total of $65.
Payments must be mailed by Wednesday, October 8, or paid online until midnight
October 9. After that time entry forms and payment must be delivered in person on
Friday, October 10 between 5:00 and 6:00 PM at the sign-in booth, located in front of
the Boulder County Courthouse on the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall.
REGISTRATION OF ACTORS
It is recommended that all participating actors are registered. However,
The Shoot Out Boulder also realizes that this may be difficult due to the
spontaneity of decisions made during the competition. Therefore, The Shoot Out
makes it the Producer?s responsibility to make sure all "extra" cast members sign
a "Participant Release" Form.
